Abstract

This chapter focuses on the socio economic inclusion of internally displaced persons (IDPs) in the context of the Russian aggression against Ukraine. It highlights the scale of forced displacement and the challenges related to integrating IDPs into the country’s social and economic life. The chapter discusses the theoretical foundations of social and economic inclusion and examines the measures undertaken by the government, international organizations, and the private sector to support IDPs through social assistance, labor market activation, entrepreneurship promotion, and educational and retraining programs. Particular emphasis is placed on the importance of proactive public policy to prevent marginalization and foster integration, as well as on investments in human capital as a driver of economic recovery and growth. The chapter also addresses demographic and migratory risks that may weaken Ukraine’s post war potential. In conclusion, it stresses the necessity of pursuing inclusive policies within the framework of the social market economy, combining market efficiency with social solidarity.
